I love pasta. Is there anyone that doesn’t? In addition to it being delicious , it’s such an easy way to pull together dinner on a busy weeknight. But, we don’t eat ” regular ” pasta at home as much anymore. I set out to find the best tasting alternative pastas. I’ve tried a LOT of brands and different types of alternative pastas in trying to healthier options that we loved
Here are a few of our favorite alternative pastas:
1) Ancient Harvest Quinoa Pasta
This one is my favorite! It actually has the taste and texture of ” regular” pasta. It’s certified Non Gmo, Certified organic, and gluten-free. Quinoa is a super grain and a good source of protein. I like this pasta with veggies , lentils/ beans , etc. I don’t use it for a red sauce. You can get it in most grocery stores and on Amazon
2) Trader Joe’s Organic Brown Rice Quinoa Pastas
Brown
Perfect for a red sauce, a meat sauce, and with vegetables, this Organic brown Rice & Quinoa pasta is a favorite in our house. Organic and gluten-free. Contains 80% quinoa/20% brown rice and that gives it a really good texture. Oh, and it’s only $2.99 for a 1 pound package.

3) Trader Joe’s organic whole wheat pasta
We aren’t gluten-free so we do still eat whole wheat pasta. Before I discovered the quinoa pastas I was buying whole wheat. Believe me, I have tried every brand out there. And there a LOT of really bad ones. This one is really, really good. And it’s only $1.99 per pound. You can use this anywhere you would use traditional pasta.
4) Bionaturae Organic whole wheat pasta
Also a really great whole wheat option. Certified organic. They also make a gluten-free pasta. I find it at health food stores and some grocery stores. Here’s a link to find it where you are:
