Remember that list of things you “swore” you would never do before you had kids? You know the one where people who actually had kids would just laugh at you. Yeah, me too. And standing on-line outside in the pouring rain waiting to see Santa was way up at the top of the list. As I watched the people walk by saying “What’s this line for?” or “People are crazy to stand on-line in the rain”, my husband reminded me that 6 1/2 short years ago, I was that person on the other side of the rope walking by. When Isabella asked what we were talking about he just said “Your Mom is a very different person since she had you!”. Yes, I am. And I’m pretty happy about it too.
The Santa at ABC Carpet and Home is so amazing that my daughter is convinced he is the one and only Santa Claus. And, for the parents, it’s a lot more manageable than some of the other options in the city. And the setting is beautiful! Oh, and its FREE. Yes, Free. You use your own camera or phone and take as many pictures as you want.
Another advantage to a visit to Santa here is the amazing brunch afterwards at ABC Kitchen. What I love most about this restaurant is their mission:
“We are passionately committed to offering the freshest, safest ingredients, presenting a seasonal menu, that is locally focused and globally artistic, and cultivating a healthy relationship on our tables and for the planet.”
I love finding local restaurants that offer fresh, local, organic food. We love to go out to eat and I feel better knowing what my family and I are eating-and drinking
Santa surprised everyone by making an appearance at the restaurant! He graciously stopped when Isabella ran up to hug him.

Great post! I love you, Isabella and our crazy life.
