I was super excited to be invited to an event at the Nintendo Store in Rockefeller Center for the release of the new Nintendo 3DS game Disney Art Academy! Sabrina Carpenter, star of Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World was on hand to give all of us some tips on how to discover our inner artist. And, let me tell you, I need all the tips I can get. I can barely draw a stick figure.

I promise you if j can draw, anyone can! My Olaf tutorial and masterpiece…
Disney Art Academy has a variety of tools, and step by step tutorials, to learn how to draw more than 80 Disney and Pixar characters, from classic characters like Mickey to new favorites like Elsa and the Inside Out Characters. There’s definitely something for everyone. It is so much fun to see your drawing start to actually look like what it is you are trying to draw! There are multiple difficulty levels, from Starter to Advanced, and you can progress at your own pace. Already an artist or want to test out your skills you just learned? Start with a blank canvas and draw your selected character in Free Paint Mode. Other cool features include being able to share your creation on social media via the Image Share tool and to upload to your computer to print.
The game can be played on both the Nintendo 3DS ($29.99 SRP) and Nintendo 2DS (the price on the 2DS was reduced from $99.99 to $79.99 and includes Mario Kart-an amazing deal!)
Now, to turn it over to the real reviewer…my 7 1/2 year old daughter. She was beyond excited to receive the game and a Nintendo 3DS to review! She figured it out immediately and began drawing Minnie, followed by Nemo. She loves to draw and she really loved the game! She said that the instructions were easy to follow and fun!
Now we are on to the next level with Sadness from Inside Out
If you and your family love Disney, we the kid expert and I highly recommend Disney Art Academy!
Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post. I received a complimentary game and system for review purposes.
Would love to hear what you think!
