I love hummus and it’s so easy to make at home with just a few ingredients. This Easy Homemade Hummus recipe is not only delicious, but is also packed with nutrition. It is high on iron , vitamin C, and Vitamin B6. Chickpeas are a great source of plant protein and fiber. I love it as a dip with any kind of veggie, whole wheat pita chips, or blue corn tortilla chips. Hummus is also a great spread on a wrap or any kind of sandwich. One thing about making your own versions of things versus store bought, is you can control your ingredients.
When I asked Isabella if she wanted to help me, she replied ” I don’t like hummus” . Her comment after tasting what she just helped make? “Wow. It’s really good!” That just reaffirmed my belief that if you get kids involved in the kitchen they will be more willing to experiment and try new things! Whenever anyone asks for recommendations on how to get their kids to try more foods and eat healthy, my number one recommendation is to always to involve them in the process.
Just dump all of the ingredients into a food processor and combine. It doesn’t get easier than that!
