My love for Broadway always continues to grow. My husband and I both love the theater.  It has always important to us to share that with our daughter. She has loved Broadway and live shows since she was little. And now she is a dancer with aspirations of her own of being up on that stage. So when I was invited to see Mean Girls on Broadway for a  “Mom’s Night Out” with some of my favorite fellow bloggers and friends, I immediately said YES! An added bonus-I was able to bring Isabella to the show as well

The Story:

Cady Heron, who has been home schooled her entire life, and her scientist parents move from Africa to the suburbs of Illinois.  Cady can’t wait to go to public school, but quickly finds out that there are laws of popularity that are cruel. She is “accepted” into the elite group -‘the plastics”, but Cady soon realizes that her new friends have earned their name for a reason.  When she decides to take on Queen Bee Regina George, she learns the hard way just how ruthless Regina can be.

The Mean Girls ensemble cast is outstanding. Each one of them was incredibly talented and their chemistry together as a group was such fun to watch.  The music was fun and upbeat and the dialogue was hilarious. We found ourselves belly laughing all the way through.  My tween dancer loved the dancing! There were definitely some updates, such as social media references, to make the show more modern and indicative of High School today. All in all it was a fantastically fun show that I would definitely recommend seeing!
