\\When we talk about mental wellness, the first thing that often comes to mind are people with severe depression or anxiety. The truth is, mental wellness is something we ALL deal with. Who hasn’t been exhausted, stressed out, had trouble sleeping, experienced weight gain, had brain fog trying to get through your daily To Do list, or dealt with some sort of anxiety?
The thing is, we tend to “normalize” those things or just chalk it up to life and being busy. Every day on my Facebook feed, so many friends are saying that they are exhausted, can’t sleep, and are stressed out. And most often people reply that that’s normal and life. But we shouldn’t feel that way. Why don’t we make our mental wellness as important as our physical wellness? What if you could go from feeling average to feeling amazing?

I was shocked at my score the first time I took this Assessment back in February 2018…it was a 2. So far into the “unacceptable” range that I couldn’t believe it. I knew I was feeling lousy, but I had no idea how bad it actually was until I saw it on paper. When you get so used to not feeling well, it becomes normal. But it wasn’t normal. My answer was to keep throwing more and more supplements into my regimen, going dairy free, gluten-free, plant based…none of it worked.
Fast forward a little more than 4 months later and I’m feeling better than I have in more than two years. A few weeks ago, I decided to take the test again. My score was a 5!!! I knew I was feeling better but it was amazing to really see how much better! I had always known that so much of your immune system and health started in the gut, but really had no idea how MUCH your gut affected every other part of your body-especially your brain. Mental wellness starts in your gut?? Yup, it does! Who knew…certainly not me.
