I love sending Isabella off to school to with fun, nutritious lunches. It’s important to fuel our kids with healthy foods and snacks so they can do their best throughout the school day. But, as busy moms they need to be easy and quick to put together too. Here are some more of our favorites!
1) Do it Yourself Yogurt parfait!
Kids love to make their own food. Use Plain organic yogurt instead of flavored yogurt that have tons of added sugar. Add fresh fruit (I use whatever I have on hand) and raw honey for a little sweetness.
2) Lots Of Love Lunchbox
I got this idea from my good friend and nutritionist, Brooke Thomas of 360 Your Life.
Applegate Farms Turkey and Sliced Cheddar on Sprouted Bread (We like Ezekiel). We choose Applegate Farms because they are free of chemical nitrates, antibiotics, or hormones. Both Ezekiel breads and Applegate Farms products are available at Trader Joe’s , Whole Foods, Stop and Shop, and Fresh Direct. Local Downtown Brooklyn/Brooklyn Heights Peeps, you can also find them at Brooklyn Fare and Perelandra. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut sandwiches and apples into heart shapes. Cut strawberries in half to make “hearts”
3) Whole wheat wrap with Ham, sliced tomato, and cheddar cheese. Carrot sticks and cucumber slices , with a little container of humus for dipping. Kids love to dip anything! Fresh blueberries and raw cashews for dessert/snack!
4) All kids love chicken nuggets it seems. Applegate Farms Natural chicken nuggets are healthier and taste great. Serve with your child’s favorite dipping sauce in a small container. Carrot sticks, raw pistachios. and dried mango.
Would love to hear what you think!
